In this series, we catch up with the people who make Precision Physio tick and give you an insight into the individuals charged with improving your health!

Meet the Team: Petrina Lobo – Recovery at Work Partner

Q: When did you join Precision Physio

PL: February 2022.

Q: Highlight of your time so far at Precision Physio

PL: The opportunity to lead our R U Ok? day has been my highlight so far, I am passionate about mental health so i’ve enjoyed being able to raise awareness and create a dialogue around this with our teams. I also love that our teams at Precision Physio are honestly the friendliest people I have ever met with genuine care for their clients and each other.

Q: What made you want to become a Recovery at Work Partner

PL: I majored in Psychology and always had an interest in understanding people. With w/comp, it can be complex and a biopsychosocial approach to injury management is necessary, so this really tied in to my personal interests, and my passion for supporting people.

I fell into workers compensation about 17 years ago, moving between an Insurer and Injury Management Coordinator roles representing the Employer.  I am outcomes driven so it’s rewarding being able to see through a case supporting clients to achieve agreed goals, and helping injured workers to regain quality of life following their injury.

This role at Precision Physio was exciting for me as it is an innovative role that helps Employers with driving faster RTW outcomes through our teams of Physio’s and Exercise Physiologists, and allows me to share my knowledge and experience from an Employers perspective.

Q: Tell us more about your role

PL: My role is a newly created role which is continuing to expand to the needs of our organisation, and our clients.

My primary focus is supporting our clinicians in management of our compensable cases, improving and enhancing our internal protocols, to support all clients including our  Workers, Doctors, Employers, Insurers and Rehabilitation Providers to achieve earlier Recovery at Work Outcomes.

My role also has a focus on learning and development, auditing,  business development & client relationship management.

Q: When you’re not working what do you like doing

PL: My creative outlet is in cake decorating, and i’ll use any opportunity to try out new techniques. You’ll otherwise find me with my family, or at Gloria Jeans with an Irish Nut Creme Coffee in hand.

Q: Favourite sports team

PL: Parramatta Eels

Q: Favourite movie or TV show

PL: My Sister’s Keeper, has me in tears every time

Q: Favourite food

PL: I love desserts and have a sweet tooth, waffles & choc lava cake are my go to.

Q: If you’re in charge of music in the clinic, what’s playing

PL: R&B Fridays! I go to all the concerts and some of our younger team members tease me that it shows my age.

Q: Something not many people know about you

PL: My hair is actually curly. I used to iron my hair on an ironing board in school, but fortunately now have a safer option, my hair straightener.
