Precision Physio is a company made up of many great people who really care about the health and wellbeing of everyone who comes to see us. This high level of care is evident as soon as you meet Sam Crossland, one of our great Physio’s based in Concord.
In this new series, we catch up with the people who make Precision Physio tick and give you an insight into the individuals charged with improving your health!
Meet the Team: Sam Crossland – Physio Concord
Q: When did you join Precision Physio
SC: I joined Precision Physio straight out of university in January of 2016.
Q: Highlight of you time so far at Precision Physio
SC: I love the culture of the organisation – our ability to maintain very high standards but also have some fun. Obviously the biggest highlight for me, would be winning best dressed at Precision’s 21st birthday party.
Q: What made you want to become a Physio
SC: I loved sport and hated study so when it came to picking electives in year 9 I picked physical activity and sport science (PASS) and food tech – we ended up doing anatomy in PASS and I found it super interesting, and from that point forward I wanted to be a Physio.
Q: What’s your treatment philosophy
SC: I try and always remember that each person that comes in to see me, while it’s just another appointment in my diary, it’s probably one of the biggest things going on in their life right now and so they deserve my full attention and respect.
Q: When you’re not working what do you like doing
SC: At the moment it’s ACL rehab and wedding planning, but normally it would be playing sport of any kind (football, oz-tag, touch and golf are the main ones), playing video games and eating burgers.
Q: Favourite sports team
SC: You name it, I follow it. The big ones are:
- Football: Chelsea
- NRL: Sydney Roosters
- AFL: Sydney Swans
- NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
- NBA: Golden State Warriors (swear I’m not a bandwagon fan)
Q: Favourite movie or TV show
SC: The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter franchises are straight god tier franchises. I don’t tend to watch TV but in terms of Netflix recommendations:
- The Good Place
- The Umbrella Academy
- Drive to Survive
- Bojack Horseman
- Rick and Morty
Q: Favourite food
SC: Burgers of any kind.
Q: If you’re in charge of music in the clinic, what’s playing
SC: There’s not much I don’t like but if I’m on music we’re not playing “gentle vibes.” Also, I’m very partial to a bit of Taylor Swift for the run home.
Q: Something not many people know about you
SC: I’m a bit of an open book so I’m not sure there’s that much but I would say most people don’t pick up that I’m half-filipino.
