Meet the Team: Alex Magnussen – Exercise Physiologist Mt Druitt

Q: When did you join Precision Physio

AM: I joined Precision Physio in June 2019

Q: Highlight of you time so far at Precision Physio

AM: The highlight of my time here would have to be seeing the amazing achievements of my clients – usually things they laugh at or think are totally impossible when we first discuss them.

Q: What made you want to become an Exercise Physiologist

AM: I had some pretty significant injuries when I was younger. I didn’t know what good rehab was at the time, but I always left sessions feeling like there had to be something more to it. It wasn’t engaging and seemed to only focus on the initial pain – not the other issues I experienced.

I never knew WHY I was doing what I was doing and never felt involved in the process. I really wanted to change that experience for others and help people achieve as well as enjoy their sessions as much as possible.

Q: What’s your treatment philosophy

AM: I genuinely believe that you’re only limited by what you tell yourself you’re limited by. Every single person has the capability to improve and do great things.

Q: When you’re not working what do you like doing

AM: Ripping into some Olympic Weightlifting sessions at the gym.

Q: Favourite sports team

AM: New England Patriots in the NFL!

Q: Favourite movie or TV show

AM: Wolf of Wall Street. No Doubt. Also a little bit of South Park or Hamish and Andy Gap Years to keep it light.

Q: Favourite food

AM: Sushi – hands down.

Q: If you’re in charge of music in the clinic, what’s playing

AM: It’s not hard to pick when my music is on. It’s either Drake, Skepta or any kind of UK music.

Q: Something not many people know about you

AM: I lived and worked in Cambodia for a short period of time in a orphanage for kids with Cerebral Palsy. Crazy experience. Makes you look at things back here in Australia REALLY differently.
